Jake, Josh, and Eric observed a growing need among neurodivergent young adults navigating the transition to independence, a population whose needs were not being met by existing transitional living models. Together, they built something new: a program that combines the structure and community of transitional living with research-based clinical interventions designed specifically for neurodivergent minds. Rubedo's approach integrates a range of neurospecific services into a single, cohesive program. Most offer weekly therapy and limited staff contact between sessions. Rubedo was built around a different standard. We designed Rubedo from the ground up to deliver a depth of clinical presence that neurodivergent young adults genuinely need, and that no comparable program currently provides. With a maximum of 14 clients at any given time, that standard is built into the program's structure from the start. ## What that looks like in practice: ### Multiple support staff present every weekday. Clinical support at Rubedo is present in the milieu, available throughout the day, and actively involved in the moments where real growth happens. ### A daytime staffing ratio of 1 staff to every 2 clients. Rubedo intentionally limits caseload size so that every client receives consistent, individualized attention. Small caseloads mean our team knows each client deeply, not just on paper. ### Integrated, in-house clinical services. Art & Music Therapy, Somatic Movement Therapy, and additional neurospecific supports are built into the program. This means more consistent care, better coordination across disciplines, and a clinical experience that holds together as a whole. ### Every client works with a team that includes three coaches and three clinicians, available throughout the week. Where most programs rely on a single clinician or rotating staff, Rubedo's clients have access to a full, integrated team. Coaches and clinicians work alongside each other, sharing observations and coordinating support in real time. ### Five clinical groups per week, built into every client's program. Group work at Rubedo is a core part of how clients build self-awareness, practice skills, and develop the kind of authentic peer connection that many neurodivergent young adults have rarely had access to before.
